NSW - Marlin and Tuna Fishing

It’s not just the marlin that are in this area we catch plenty of Mahi Mahi (dolphin fish ) Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, King Fish and giant Mako sharks just to name a few.

The township of nelson bay located right in the middle of port Stephens; it is one of NSW pristine tourist locations with the huge port/bay having plenty on offer. Port Stephens is located just a 2 hr drive north of Sydney or a quick 1hr 30min flight from Melbourne with the airport just 30k from the main township of port Stephens /nelson bay we get plenty of people fly up for a weekends marlin fishing.

Captain Simon Rinaldi has been fishing the waters off port Stephens since being introduced to the fish rich waters in 2001 and has spent a few months here each marlin season ever since, Simon has a good understanding of the port Stephens area and always finds a way to scratch up some action even on the quiet days.

It's not uncommon to see ''red hot'' on the water first and coming in last Simon works hard and will go the extra mile to get you connected to the fish of a life time, over the years Simon has had some amazing days on the marlin grounds with the best day being 16 tagged marlin in a single day not to mention the countless double figure days on stripe marlin and black marlin and even the days that have been chosen to target the big blue marlin wide off port Stephens ''red hot'' has come up tight on some big line burning blue marlin the biggest being released and an estimate of around 750lbs that’s a monster for this area.

So give captain Simon Rinaldi and ''red hot fishing charters'' a go you won’t be disappointed.
